Joan Nelson, MPH, PA-C, is a certified PA (Physician Associate) with Providence Medical Group-Gateway Family Medicine. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, especially families, and growing with them over time. “I enjoy helping people understand their own bodies so they can become healthier – physically, mentally and socially, ” she says. As an advocate for her patients, she emphasizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle in achieving and maintaining health. “My role is to share medical knowledge and evidence and to help people apply that information to their own lives, ” says Joan. A graduate of Beloit College in Wisconsin, she earned her PA degree at Duke University in Durham, NC and her Master of Public Health at Portland State University.
