Sienna Nelson, MD, IBCLC, is a board-certified family medicine physician at Providence Medical Group - Lloyd Center. She has specialized training in obstetrics, newborn care and lactation, and is also interested in reproductive health, LGBTQ health and substance-use issues. “My most important role is to make patients feel welcome and valued, ” she says. “When patients feel supported, it opens the door to better communication and more effective care.” A graduate of Tulane University, she earned her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed her internship and residency at Oregon Health & Science University, followed by a Salud Rural Maternal Child Health Fellowship. She also speaks Spanish and French.
