    Partner

    Martin W. Reeves has a diverse litigation practice, having handled medical malpractice, personal injury, family law, and real estate disputes for over 30 years. After graduating with a B.A in history from Fairhaven College in Bellingham, Washington in 1978, Martin earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1981, where he was an associate editor of the law review. He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar that same year, the Federal Courts for the District of Oregon in 1982, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 1983, and the Washington State Bar in 1991. When he is away from the office, Martin enjoys traveling, skiing, and spending time with friends and family.

    Gary K. Kahn is an accomplished attorney with over 30 years experience in several legal areas. He earned his B.S. (Zoology) from The Ohio State University in 1977, and his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1981, where he graduated in the top ten percent in his class. He began his legal career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where he worked as a litigator for six years in Washington D.C. and Portland. In 1987, Gary and Martin Reeves started their own private practice, growing into what is now Reeves, Kahn, Hennessy & Elkins. In this capacity, Gary enjoys broad success in a variety of legal areas, but has a refined focus in real property, business law, and environmental litigation. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, traveling, golfing, and generally recreating outdoors.

  • Peggy Hennessy

    Peggy Hennessy has been a partner with Reeves, Kahn, Hennessy & Elkins since 1995, and has been in private practice for approximately 30 years. Her practice emphasizes the areas of real property, land use, estate planning and probate law. She was admitted to practice in Oregon in 1987, and Washington in 1988. She has also been admitted before the Federal Courts for the District of Oregon, the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Peggy represents clients in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative bodies and local government entities. Her outside interests include sailing, kayaking, bicycling, hiking, skiing, camping, music, travel, and generally being outside with family and friends.

  • Tiffany A. Elkins

    Tiffany A. Elkins has been practicing law for over thirteen years. Her practice emphasizes the areas of real property, probate law, the establishment of guardianships/conservatorships, collection work, and other miscellaneous litigation. Prior to coming to private practice, Tiffany was an Assistant Attorney General at the Oregon Department of Justice. She also served as a clerk for the Honorable Maureen McKnight at the Multnomah County Circuit Court. Tiffany received her B.A., cum laude, from Rice University (Women and Gender Studies/Political Science), and her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law. She is admitted to practice in both Oregon and Washington. When she is not practicing law, Tiffany enjoys skiing, hiking, cooking, going to see music, and traveling internationally.

  • J. Michael Harris

    Senior Associate

    J. Michael Harris is an experienced trial attorney having taken over 100 cases to trial as lead counsel, with courtroom appearances in both criminal and civil matters. He has represented clients accused in cases ranging from DUII to high profile mandatory minimum felony charges. Prior to coming to Reeves, Kahn, Hennessy & Elkins, he served as an attorney for children, advocating for his clients before the court and with DHS. His civil practice areas include family law, representing landlords, collections, real estate, and other miscellaneous litigation. Michael received his undergraduate degrees in literature and philosophy from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law. When he is not practicing law, Michael is an avid runner, expert skier, and mediocre golfer.
